A true leader will try to find talent in the team, motivate it in time and with the right words, steer it in the right direction, accompany it, teach it and develop the talent little by little without unnecessary interference in the work process. A leader can be appointed from somewhere above, but more often these people appear naturally due to the fact that they confirm their qualifications on a daily basis. An excellent result of a leader's work is not the accumulation of a crowd of followers (which bosses most often like), but the identification of new leaders, with their own ideas and fresh eyes.

Fear of Power

The main factor in the fear of bosses is precisely the fear of how much power is concentrated in the hands of these people. We are talking about those emotions that negatively affect people and do not allow them to fully concentrate on the work process.

For some people, any figure who has access to power will produce certain emotional effects on such people. A supervisor may simply want to talk to a person, and they will immediately become anxious, sweaty, and feel a potential danger to their comfort.

Fear comes from mental or emotional instability. The supervisor can also activate fear triggers in the employee through his or her sometimes unintentional actions. Some bosses may communicate a little arrogantly, dismissively, or with a touch of arrogance. 

The important thing is that we should not confuse respect and fear. Respect in the work process is a very important value without which you cannot have a healthy supervisor-subordinate relationship.

Fear does not help the work process, but only limits the employee and cuts the potential for talent.

If fear interferes with the work process, the worker will feel constrained, all his thoughts will be that he must work without error, and this will reduce his productivity and lead to more failures.

The employee may be frightened by some elevated tone and regard it as hostility from the supervisor. Both parties should treat each other with respect and work to establish a healthy work climate.

There is enough responsibility in the hands of the supervisor and the worker for a job successfully done, and this can always cause unwanted fear.

6. Try to listen to what you are told

Bosses like people who are responsible and who can learn and are open to everything new. If you can learn something new from your boss, he will see it and he will be especially pleased that you don't sit still and absorb all the information. Look at the non-verbal information and the way the person communicates the information to you. If you know how to listen, it will be much easier for you to speak. Gradually, when you understand everything that your boss is trying to convey to you, you will be able to roughly predict his reaction to your actions.

7. Don't be afraid to speak directly to your boss

Some people, because of their own fear, think that "going around" the boss is the best solution. In fact, try to solve problems at the levels at which they arise. If you try to go around the problem, it can only make things worse. It may seem to the boss that you don't want to communicate with him or her because of a personal grudge. The problem will not go anywhere and the misunderstanding will only progress.

Try to be tolerant even to those people whose behavior you don't like at all. The main thing is not to go over some limits, but the ability to keep a cool mind in critical situations is always appreciated in the work process.

In any case, we will come to the conclusion that fear is a serious problem and you must somehow get rid of it, because it can seriously interfere with your ambitions. If the situation is too serious, then consult a psychologist or a professional coach. 

You must choose the best option for your own way of overcoming fear. And if you are faced with super difficult situations that cannot be solved by your efforts alone, then don't forget that there are plenty of jobs out there with more respect for a skilled worker.
